Since the beginning of Sani Lodge, we have been working tirelessly to offer our guests a unique, sustainable experience with gender equality and conservation of the Amazon forests critical to the planet’s climate regulation. Tripadvisor has echoed this proposal and continuously awarded us as Travelers’ Choice in the years 2015, 2016, 2018, and 2019.
Since Tripadvisor’s last nomination in 2019, it has taken 5 years to be recognized again, this time as one of the best places to visit in the world. We proudly share with you all colleagues, friends, and dear guests this Award of Excellence, » The best of the best,» of which you are also part.
This is due to permanent work that goes from the first contact that our clients have with the sales department, whose reservation processes are very agile, cordiality, and professionalism. This allows a fast flow of information for the operations department to proceed with all the actions to offer personalized assistance from our bilingual team at the lodge and in Coca-Cola and Quito airports.
Our primary forest excursions are planned to suit the requirements of our guests, from children as young as 2 years old to seniors. The community protects 40,000 hectares both north of the Napo River and in the south within the Yasuni National Park, guaranteeing an experience in a pristine place free of environmentally aggressive activities such as oil extraction.
The Sani Warmi project, managed by the community’s women, showcases the Amazonian Kichwa culture by recreating traditional food, handicrafts, and ancestral medicine in the interpretation center. The food is prepared with organic products from the area, sown on the community people’s farms. These products are sold to the lodge, whose income has a great added value that further boosts the local economy.
The community’s young people are currently in charge of the lodge and receive ongoing advice from professionals in various sectors. Approximately 100 families benefit directly and indirectly from the project, and the community will continue to rely on tourism as a sustainable activity that has survived pandemics despite the country’s economic crises to soar as high as the flight of the Amazonian Condor.
On behalf of the Kichwa Community Sani Isla, we would like to express our gratitude for the trust in our product, which is the key to this achievement and obliges us to continue this continuous improvement process.
Hugs and cheers from the Amazon jungle.
